Taekwon-Do literally means Foot (Tae) Hand (Kwon) Art (Do) – the Art of Hand and Foot Fighting. The founder of Taekwon-Do was given to this fighting art on 11th April 1955 by General Choi.
Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art that uses the body for self-defence. As a sport, Taekwon-Do is dynamic, exciting and fun and is a wonderful life changing journey. The training is safe, practical and most importantly, enjoyable! It improves its practitioners’ fitness levels, flexibility, co-ordination and self-confidence. As a martial art, its graceful yet powerful with no other style of martial art being its equal.
